27 events; 6 forums, 14 workshops, 1 film night, 6 Pop-up Cafes
The 2019 Palliative Care Program is finalised.
We have chosen topics to demonstrate that palliative care is more than morphine and medicine. Our program aims to equip you to take action when someone you care for or about is living with the real and present prospect that life is ending.
Starting in Bordertown on February 11th with 9 community information sessions across the South East on how to complete the South Australian Advance Directive.
There’s a public film night on March 7th, ‘Tuesdays with Morrie’ and May 1st sees our forums program start in partnership with UniSA’s Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre where invited keynote speaker Professor Stephen Duckett will present on palliative care policy. Other forums planned include Holistic Health in Palliative Care, Spirituality and because of the interest in Victoria’s voluntary assisted dying laws which come into effect from July 1st this year a public forum to better understand the legal and ethical issues surrounding the voluntary assisted dying debate.
We hope you will join us at any or all of the events and get equipped to make a difference.
